At the beginning of May, Prostějov Airport became the venue for one of the most significant domestic events for military professionals – the GLOMEX MILITARY DAYS 2026 presentation event. More than eighty invited military experts from fifteen European countries, as well as from the USA and Australia, had a unique opportunity to familiarize themselves with the latest equipment for special forces and security units
The main highlight of the program was the presentation by the American company Airborne Systems, a global leader in the production of military parachutes with a 105-year tradition. The company’s portfolio includes top-tier personal parachutes as well as complex systems for cargo drops and rescue missions in aviation and space operations. In Prostějov, under the supervision of Airborne Systems specialists and instructors, seventy professional parachutists had the opportunity to test the Intruder and Marauder ram-air parachutes, as well as the Gemini tandem system, in real conditions. Since they had access to three aircraft – the Swiss Pilatus PC-6 Porter (5 seats), the New Zealand PAC P-750 XSTOL (10 seats), and the British Short SC.7 Skyvan (19 seats) – there was certainly no shortage of opportunities to gain hands-on experience with these cutting-edge American parachute systems. Despite unfavorable winds at the beginning of the event, a total of 366 jumps were completed over the following days, receiving very positive feedback. “Holding this event in Prostějov was an excellent idea,” said a participant from Lubliniec, Poland, shortly after landing. “Moravia is not far for us, and we feel at home here. On top of that, the event is exceptionally well organized.” The two parachutists who traveled the farthest came all the way from Australia. What they appreciated most in Prostějov was the warm weather. “Winter is already beginning in the Southern Hemisphere, so we’re happy to extend our summer while also testing new parachutes from Airborne Systems.”
As part of the Airborne Systems parachute presentation program, participants of GLOMEX MILITARY DAYS 2026 were also highly impressed by the precision airdrop of a 600 kg cargo load using the AS-2000 parachute system.
The four-day program also included presentations of products from companies represented on the Czech market by the event organizer, GLOMEX Military Supplies. The greatest attention was rightfully attracted by optical sighting systems for firearms from Colorado-based Swampfox, night vision systems from the renowned Canadian manufacturer GSCI, American Ops-Core ballistic helmets, and a number of other products. GLOMEX Military Supplies also demonstrated the evolutionary model of the Toyota Chamois utility off-road vehicle equipped with the ZS-M automatic weapon station chambered in 12.7 mm caliber. “We are organizing Military Days for the second time after a three-year break as an event created by professionals for professionals, and we are pleased to see growing interest not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad. This year we welcomed representatives from seventeen countries, and for the next edition we would like to exceed twenty,” summarized this year’s event Lukáš Dědina, President of GLOMEX Military Supplies
